I spent today in the orthopedics office at Santa Monica-UCLA-Orthopedic Hospital. My highfalutin hand surgeon turned up his nose at the splint the emergency physician put on six days ago and quickly ordered a new set of x-rays.
The fracture was still well aligned and apparently not much of a big deal, so a cast would do; no surgery was needed. Several hours later I exited with a nifty blue fiberglass cast. It itches like crazy in there, but it is an improvement over that splint.
I had little energy for writing after getting poked and prodded. Still, I managed to snap a few pictures and draft this brief post, in the spirit of dedication to journaling this month.
